I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again: fall is the perfect time to plan a getaway to Cape Cod. The foliage is beautiful and there’s less crowds. You can also get some really good deals on accommodations at top resorts and hotels, including Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster.
With a plethora of activities offered by Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, there are a ton of things to do, even in the off-season. Rent a bike and take it on the gorgeous Cape Cod Rail Trail that runs right through the property. Enjoy a dip in one of the indoor pools. Play a round of golf on the Cape’s only Nicklaus Design golf course. Get a massage or facial at the Beach House Spa. Nearby, you can also go antiquing, visit numerous art galleries, pop into the Brewster General Store, and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the Brewster Flats.
Whether you’re looking for things to do indoors, or want to get out and explore, read on for my favorite things to do when visiting Cape Cod during the fall!
Indoor Activities at Ocean Edge Resort
Check into the beautiful accommodations at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
The resort offers two sections: The Mansion, closest to the beach, offers standard guestrooms and suites. The Villages, located across the street near the golf course, offers family-friendly villas with one, two and three bedrooms.
Read a book in front of the fireplace
Ocean Edge offers several common spaces with wood-burning fireplaces. The scent of woodsmoke is intoxicating. It makes for a great spot to curl up with a book or enjoy a game of checkers when it’s chilly outside.
Pamper yourself at the spa
I had the most amazing signature massage at the Beach House Spa at Ocean Edge. The relaxation lounge is a lovely spot to enjoy before or after your treatment. The spa also offers beauty services like manicures, pedicures and waxing.
Take a dip in the indoor pool
There’s nothing better than enjoying a swim while on Cape Cod. Ocean Edge offers two indoor pools for guests to enjoy when it’s too chilly to swim outside. It’s a great option for kids and adults alike!
Enjoy a delicious meal at Ocean Terrace/Frost Bar or Bayzo’s Pub
The food at Ocean Edge is top-notch, and we enjoyed meals at both restaurants during our stay. Standouts included the Scallop & Pork Belly app and the Rack of Lamb at Ocean Terrace, and the Lobster Roll and Fish & Chips at Bayzo’s were superb. Ocean Terrace will also soon turn into the Frost Bar, complete with igloos that guests can reserve for their own private dining experience starting in December. With a fun atmosphere and delicious food, I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you visit the Cape over the winter!
Outdoor Activities at Ocean Edge Resort
Rent a bike for a ride on the Cape Cod Rail Trail
Ocean Edge offers bike rentals on property (you’ll find them right across from the tennis courts near the Mansion). And you can pick up the Cape Cod Rail Trail right near the entrance to the Villages. The Rail Trail is a beautiful way to see the Cape, with 26 miles of trails that take you along ponds, marshes and beautiful woodlands.
Enjoy a walk on the beach
I love the scenic boardwalk that takes you to the private beach at Ocean Edge. This time of year is perfect for strolling at low tide to enjoy the stunning Brewster flats. Just make sure to dress warmly!
Play a round of golf
Ocean Edge is home to one of the best golf courses on the Cape. Golf at the resort remains open until Thanksgiving weekend, so there is still time to get a round or in before it closes for the season.
Go antiquing
Brewster is home to many antique shops and art galleries. We especially enjoyed browsing at Wayne’s Antiques and Stringe Gallery. It’s always fun to pop into the Brewster General Store as well!
Visit Stony Brook Grist Mill
One of the most scenic spots in Brewster, I love stopping by to enjoy the views of the mill and to walk along the footpaths to enjoy the foliage.
