There is a ton to do and explore here in Massachusetts, and my aim is to provide travelers to Massachusetts with recommendations and tips on how to experience the state through the eyes of local. I write about destinations to visit within Massachusetts, including “Insider Guides” to the various neighborhoods in Boston along with other cities and towns throughout the state. I also write about our state’s great restaurants and cafes, shops and boutiques, inns and hotels, breweries, bars, beaches, museums, galleries, attractions, and much more.
My goal for this blog is to offer an authentic view into the things I love most about Massachusetts. I personally visit every place I write about, and personally use every product I review or recommend. The majority of the photography is my own (unless otherwise credited) and all opinions and recommendations are based on my own experience.
From time to time, I’ll also spotlight other locals who have expertise in a specific area, whether they are a local shop owner, a restaurateur or simply a local resident who loves this area as much as I do.
Tips for Massachusetts Travelers
Through Travel Like a Local: Massachusetts, I’m also looking to discover new things and write about the best our state has to offer to offer tips for Massachusetts travelers. Topics I’m looking to cover include:
- Destinations: There are so many cities and towns in MA to explore, from the neighborhoods of Boston, to the small towns dotting the coast, to the communities in the Western part of the state.
- Restaurants & Cafes: Fine dining, casual eats, seafood shacks, sandwich spots, coffee shops, diners and everything in between.
- Shops & Boutiques: I love to shop locally and support small businesses, and would love to know about noteworthy, independently-owned shops and boutiques throughout the state.
- Breweries & Bars: From breweries, wineries and distilleries to upscale cocktail bars or your favorite dives, there is no shortage of options for beverages to drink – and places to drink them – in MA.
- Lodging: While there are certainly a number of awesome flagged hotels throughout the state, I also love experiencing all of the independent hotels, inns and B&Bs throughout Massachusetts as well.
- Activities & Attractions: There is SO much to do here in MA, including museums and galleries, historical sites, farms and orchards, beaches, spas, workout studios, hiking trails, tours and more.
- Products: There are incredible artisans, makers and businesses throughout the state making really cool things, from pottery and ceramics, to jewelry, to candles to cheese and more.
I have high standards (and friends may even call me picky) so I do truly need to enjoy something to include it on the blog. That said, Travel Like a Local: MA is meant to be a positive space, and if I really don’t like a place I visit or a product I try out, I’ll likely simply not write about it. I will always do my best to give my honest opinion on the topics I do write about, as nothing in life is perfect, and I certainly don’t want to sugarcoat anything.
